1. Bio

Just a random space on the Interwebs for me to leave random scraps of quotations, images, photos, or music that I like and would like to keep a note of. Enjoy looking through these things: it’s a bit like a little collage of the things that define me - and the many things that I love and like.

    Who I Am:

    • Currently pursuing a BA Classical Studies with English degree in London
    • Enjoys poetry (mostly writing or listening to). Favourite famous poet is T.S. Eliot; favourite spoken-word / performance poetry artists are Andrea Gibson, Staceyann Chin and Ani DiFranco.
    • Likes music (singing and writing and listening). Favourite rock bands are Coldplay, Paramore, the occasional Snow Patrol; favourite rock/post-hardcore albums include BMTH’s There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret and Evanescence’s Fallen and The Open Door. I also enjoy some indie music: favourite bands for that would be The xx and Florence + the Machine. I also like my pop - especially Britney and Gaga. I do like the occasional Katy Perry song though. On the adult alternative side of things, my favourite singer-songwriters include Rufus Wainwright, Alicia Keys, and John Mayer. I also really really like Anais Mitchell’s Hadestown album. That is a masterpiece of work in itself.
    • Loves languages (currently learning as many as I’m able to). Grew up with English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese; did German throughout secondary school and pre-university; currently doing an intermediate Latin module for uni. Hoping to move on to Ancient Greek soon. Have some basic knowledge of Japanese and Korean (including writing systems, though obviously I am not entirely familiar with much kanji. Maybe just barely enough to sort of fake it). Want to learn Modern Greek, Italian, French, and Spanish. And Babylonian. And possibly Quenya and Sindarin. I love constructed languages, though I haven’t really conlanged in a while.
    • Loves watching musical movies (especially the old ones. Favourites are Funny Girl and Singin’ in the Rain). Also enjoys musicals (I’ve only seen The Phantom of the Opera and The Wizard of Oz live, though. I love both equally much, though PotO and me go way back, so to speak. Hehe).
